Education and Professional Background
Pengpeng Ji’s journey in the legal profession began with a strong educational foundation. She earned her L.L.M from the prestigious University of California, Los Angeles, in May 2017, showcasing her commitment to excellence. Prior to that, she completed her Bachelor of Laws from Nanjing University, Kuang Yaming Honors School, in July 2016, where she also obtained a Certificate of Proficiency in Accounting. Furthermore, she broadened her horizons with a Summer Exchange Program at the University of Oxford in the UK in August 2014.
Her professional experience is equally impressive, demonstrating her versatility and dedication in handling diverse legal matters. As an Associate Attorney at Lo & Lo, LLP in Los Angeles, Pengpeng has been actively involved in civil litigation, transactions, bankruptcy, and trademark cases since October 2021. Her responsibilities include working alongside managing partners to provide litigation support, advising individuals and companies on business and real estate matters, and structuring and negotiating commercial agreements.
Before joining Lo & Lo, LLP, Pengpeng served as the Director of the Asian Department at D’Alessio Law Group from March 2020 to December 2021, where she specialized in immigration, entertainment, tech, and business law. Her role involved advising global clients on various legal matters, conducting internal reviews and audits to ensure compliance with laws and regulations, and handling immigration applications and appeals.
Previous Experience in Entertainment and Business
Pengpeng Ji’s expertise also extends to the entertainment industry, where she served as Legal Counsel at Huace Films & TV in Los Angeles. Her work involved advising the creative team on motion picture projects and drafting rights agreements, financing agreements, production and distribution agreements, and employment contracts.
Additionally, Pengpeng gained valuable experience at AllBright Law Offices in Shanghai as a Legal Assistant, working on Hollywood film financing projects and representing clients in resolving disputed matters, including copyright infringement and defamation cases.
Social Initiatives and Involvement
Beyond her legal accomplishments, Pengpeng Ji actively engages in social activities, showcasing her dedication to giving back to the community. As the Legal Affairs Manager for the Los Angeles Chinese Film Festival (“LACFF”), she oversaw strategic initiatives and managed cross-functional teams to promote upcoming talents in the entertainment industry.
Her commitment to pro bono work is evident through her volunteer service at the Legal Aid Center in Nanjing University, where she provided legal assistance and support to those in need.
