Rayne Brown is a litigation associate based out of San Diego, California

Rayne is an associate attorney with Waterkotte Mullis Moreno & Garles. A versatile and passionate advocate, Rayne’s practice focuses on complex employment and labor litigation. She represents California employers in individual and multi-plaintiff actions involving a diverse range of wage and hour, retaliation, harassment, discrimination, and other employment-related disputes.

Rayne’s litigation strategy is enriched by her experience representing both employers and employees in employment disputes, including wage and hour class, collective, and representative actions. Her understanding of how plaintiffs and their counsel approach, develop, and value claims provides her with a well-rounded perspective on employment litigation and informs her ability to identify risk, evaluate claims, and develop effective defense strategies. Rayne brings vibrant tenacity, thoughtful judgment, and a balanced assessment of the law and facts to achieving exceptional results for her clients.

Rayne attended the University of San Diego School of Law on a merit-based scholarship and earned her Juris Doctor in May 2021. As a law student, she served as Community Service Chair and Co-Vice President of the Black Law Students Association, as well as the Student Bar Association Representative for the Immigration Law Society. During her legal education, Rayne participated in multiple pro bono legal clinics, monitored and reported on the activities of government agencies as a research intern for the University of San Diego’s Consumer Protection Policy Center, and provided emergency immigration services to victims of serious crimes, survivors of violence, and detained individuals in need of removal defense.

Rayne is fluent in Spanish and earned her Bachelor of Arts in English and Spanish from the University of San Diego
